What the numbers mean for a pour
Pours needed with a limit of 2 in per pour. Worked out with the layer planner.
| Total thickness | Pours | Earliest start of last pour | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 in (25 mm) | 1 | no wait (one pour) | – |
| 2 in (51 mm) | 1 | no wait (one pour) | – |
| 3 in (76 mm) | 2 | 48 h after the first, if the conditions below are met | – |
| 4 in (102 mm) | 2 | 48 h after the first, if the conditions below are met | – |
Only if these published conditions are met: second pour when the first is firm but tacky; if well cured, scuff with 320 grit and clean with 99% isopropyl alcohol

Heat
- The TDS lists a temperature resistance of 110°F for the cured resin.TDS
- The FAQ gives heat resistance of about 120°F once fully cured and recommends coasters and place mats.FAQ
- The FAQ gives a gel time of 18-24 hours and a cure time of 36-72 hours, with full hardness taking up to 7 days.FAQ
Temperature
- For pours of 2 gallons or more, Promise suggests keeping the room near 65°F and running fans to shed heat.TDS

Protective equipment
- Wear impervious gloves such as butyl or nitrile rubber.
- Wear chemical safety glasses or goggles for the resin.
- Wear chemical safety goggles or a face shield and impervious clothing for the hardener.
- Use an approved organic-vapor respirator if needed, and supplied air for high exposures or emergencies.
Ventilation
- Use the resin with adequate general or local exhaust ventilation.
- Use the hardener with properly positioned local exhaust ventilation to stay below occupational exposure limits.
A summary, not the full SDS. Read the SDS for both parts before use and follow its first-aid section in case of exposure. This is not medical advice.
Where the manufacturer’s documents disagree
- Working time: Work Time (100 gram mass) 50-70 minutes (TDS table) vs. you’ll have about 90 minutes (TDS body text) vs. soft gel in about 15–20 minutes, firm gel in 20–30 minutes (FAQ) (TDS, TDS, FAQ). The table shows the value from the TDS.
- Full cure: Full Cure Time 7 days (TDS table) vs. Full cure and maximum hardness can require up to 3-5 days (TDS Step 5) vs. The curing process ... is 48 hours; Cure for 5-7 days (product page) vs. Full cure and maximum hardness can require up to 7 days (FAQ) (TDS, TDS, Page, FAQ). The table shows the value from the TDS.
- Temperature resistance: Temperature Resistance 110F (TDS) vs. heat resistance approximately 120°F (FAQ) (TDS, FAQ).
